Data protection officer
When processing personal data, companies must comply with the special requirements of private policy and often prove this against third parties. For example, if a company employs ten or more persons involved in the automated processing of personal data, it has to appoint a data protection officer according to BDSG. A data protection officer has, among other things, the following tasks:
- works in compliance with the Federal Data Protection Act and other laws
- controls and monitors the proper application of data processing programs
- trains staff, which is involved in the handling of personal data
