The tests to get the certification and the shown certification mark can be done for all textile products ranging from apparels to home textile.
The certification mark is awarded within the framework of voluntary testing and certification.
The testing parameters focus on the chemical testing for hazardous substances and verification of fibre composition. The factory inspection program includes elements of social accountability such as compliance to labour laws, occupational safety and workers' entitlement.
Certification Mark Statements:
1. Production monitored: The use of the TÜV SÜD TexCheck Mark is subjected to continual factory inspections (annual) and random product sampling from the production line for spot testing.
2. Tested for hazardous substances (RSL, SVHC): The textile product goes through chemical testing for different hazardous substances. These substances are defined by the EU REACH and US CPSIA regulations as well as most of the substances commonly found on the RSL (Restricted Substance List) of major retailers.
3. Fibre composition verified: The fibre is tested to verify composition.
