Registration, evaluation, authorization and restriction of chemicals - REACH made easy
On 1 June 2007, the EU's new chemicals regulation REACH came into force and fundamentally changed European legislation in this sector. Because of the REACH Regulation chemicals needed to be registered within certain deadlines with the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA). According to REACH Regulation, unregistered chemicals and mixtures (formerly called "preparations") including such substances are now prohibited in the EU. Only substances that are produced or imported in quantities below one tonne per year are excepted from the above rule.
New requirements now apply, for which we will be happy to provide Support:
- Communication and assurance throughout the supply chain
- Ongoing updating of existing registrations
- Implementation of actions resulting from occupational health and safety, environmental and consumer protection
- Substance Management
- Full Material Declaration
Important: The duty to register still applies. It concerns all substances first produced or imported after 31 May 2018 in quantities over 1 tonne per year, e.g. new substances.
