Polymers have become indispensable in the manufacturing and repair of gas and water lines and industrial piping systems. At the Münchner Kunststoffrohrtage, the specialist conference on plastic pipe systems, on 7 and 8 March 2017, renowned experts discuss current developments and practice experiences in this field. Established in 1997, the expert forum will be held by TÜV SÜD for the third time in Munich next year.
In recent decades, polymer pipe systems have proved to offer excellence properties and safety in a variety of applications, including the supply of gas and potable water, waste-water and sewer systems, industrial pipeline construction and refurbishment of defective pipelines. After starting with an overview of current developments in regulations and standards, the conference will use informative case studies to demonstrate the wide range of applications of polymer pipe systems.
The event will open with sessions on “Pipe systems/materials”, showing results of long-term testing of PE 100 material for underground potable water lines and experiences with the use of PB1 in district heating and district cooling. The sessions on “Innovations” address topics such as construction and refurbishment of potable water tanks and potable water structures according to the current DVGW W 300 standard, as well as new business lines for utilities based on the DigiNetz Act. The second day will start with talks on “Welding and testing methods”, focusing on electrofusion welding followed by various contributions to innovative developments for water and waste-water applications. The conference will close with “Experience In Practice”, with topics including temporary shut-off devices for plastic piping systems and the reliable planning and dimensioning of polymer installations for the discharge of precipitation water.
“Our choice of topics once again paves the way for constructive and exciting professional exchange at the highest level”, says Marcus Demetz, Head of the Institute for Plastics of TÜV SÜD Industrie Service GmbH. “In the last two years, it has become evident that we have continued the established tradition of the Wiesbaden Kunststoffrohrtage.” For 19 years, the specialist conference on plastic pipes has served as a source of practice-focused technical information for planning, construction and operations engineers, maintenance staff and welders. The event is attended by manufacturers of raw materials, semi-finished products and pipes and by experts from municipal organisations and the energy industry.
