The periodical technical inspection from TÜV SÜD - this is what it is all about
Road safety, regularity and environmental protection - these are some of the objectives pursued by the legislator with the periodical technical inspection (PTI), to which you must drive up your vehicle regularly. Since January 1st, 2010 the previously independent emissions test (AU) (formerly ASU) is a complete part of the PTI in the form of a partial test for environmental compatibility. The hexagonal plate on the front registration plate is therefore no longer required at all.
When is the next periodical technical inspection due?
The due date of the periodical technical inspection (PTI) is indicated by the round plate on the rear registration plate. The year is noted in the middle circle of the inspection plate, while the due month is always indicated by the number at the top edge of the inspection plate.
