Eco Balance relating to LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) is a method to evaluate the environmental impact of a product through all phases of its life, from the extraction of raw materials to manufacturing, through its useful life to disposal and end-Recycling. Environmental impacts include the utilization of resources (for example, natural gas, raw materials, water) and emissions (for example, from waste, CO2 Emissions/ Footprint).
Eco Balance is the primary objective of sustainability certification. The results are compiled and evaluated to determine the environmental credentials of a building.
To this belong CO2-Emissions, GWP – Global Warming Potential, ODP - Ozone Depletion Potential, in addition to primary energy demand from renewable or non-renewable sources etc.
With the help of Eco Balancing we are able to evaluate and optimize the ecological impact from single products through to complete buildings.
