LEED® stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design and is a world leading certification scheme for new builds and existing buildings.
It was developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (US-GBC) and has been used since 1998.
The means of validation supports the entire design of the building and its engineering systems for heating, cooling, ventilation and lighting.
The requirements for certification are based on US American Standards (ASRHAE) and are valid world wide in almost unchanged form. The standard achieved for a LEED® certified building allows comparison with buildings in other countries, which is of particular interest for international tenants and investors.
LEED® Certification is classified in the Quality Levels Silver, Gold and Platinum.
