"Renewable Energy Certification System" (RECS)

The "Renewable Energy Certification System" (RECS) is an initiative launched by power producers, distributors and certifiers for trading energy from renewable sources on the international floor. For this purpose, certificates are used to separate the environmental value of this renewable energy from its physical energy. These certificates can be traded separately.


 

TÜV SÜD proactively participates in the European RECS system and acts as a "production registrar", assessing power generation plants in Germany, Switzerland and Slovenia.
