Gerhard Gloeckner in charge of key accounts and manufacturer support
Gerhard Gloeckner strengthens management team of TÜV SÜD Auto Service GmbH under CEO Horst Schneider. The 58-year old automotive engineer is in charge of the new "Key accounts and manufacturer support" unit. The TÜV SÜD company thus caters to the growing demand by auto and automotive component manufacturers, car dealerships and auto megadealers, leasing companies, insurance companies and other financial service providers for supra-regional services such as verification of manufacturer standards, workshop quality tests and lease return inspection reports. The new unit will also support TÜV SÜD Auto Services subsidiaries plus service, FleetCompany and LUEG Consult.
Gerhard Gloeckner previously held various functions in automotive design and development at DaimlerChrysler and, as member of the senior management team at Mercedes Car Group (MCG), was in charge of the "Testing" center before taking up his current position. Between 1998 and 2002, he was also a member of the ATP (Automotive Testing Papenburg) management team. ATP is a joint venture of automotive supplier Karmann and MB-technology, a DaimlerChrysler subsidiary. Gloeckner's first career station after graduating in mechanical engineering in Esslingen, was with Porsche in chassis and transmission design.
TÜV SÜD Auto Services maintains over 300 service centres in Germany alone. The company and its 3,000-plus employees generate annual sales of approximately € 340 million. Its service portfolio ranges from conventional roadworthiness test to used vehicle management for car retailers and end-to-end fleet management for vehicle fleets in Germany and abroad.Note: The photo is available here for download.
