Hungarian Product Award

TÜV SÜD KERMI Ltd., with a history looking back to almost 100 years and holding a set of laboratories accredited to almost the entire range of consumer goods, had been from the very beginning a founding member and announcer of the HUNGARIAN PRODUCT AWARD. The contest for the Hungarian product grand prize® has been announced on the eleventh occasion in 2008 by Industorg Bt., TÜV SÜD KERMI Ltd., the National Consumer Protection Agency, MEHIB Private Limited Company, EXIMBANK Private Limited Company, TERC Ltd. and ITD Hungary Non Profit Private Limited Company. A welcome note shall be delivered at the awarding ceremony by Dr. Katalin Szili, Speaker of the Hungarian Parliament. The Grand Prizes shall be presented to the winners by Mr. György Podolák MP, Chairman of the Economic and Information Technology Committee of the Parliament. Each year, the awarding ceremony takes place in the House of Parliament.

During the past ten years, 437 entrants received a variety of awards at the Hungarian Product Awards, 142 of which have the privilege to bear the eminent title of Hungarian Product Awards. There are 13 categories open for applications this year encompassing the full range of economy. Multinationals may apply just as well as small and medium enterprises may do, and there is an opportunity to accept masterpieces of the handicraft industry judged by an expert panel. Experience of the past ten years shows that more than 50% of all entrants were small and medium enterprises, a fact reflected in the awards granted. In the year of 2008 there were 34 entries deemed eligible to the recognition of Hungarian Product Grand Prize® and 29 Grand Prizes were granted. Five applications obtained Recognised Product qualifications. Ten of the successful businesses are partners to TÜV SÜD KERMI.

Conformity assessment process of air heating devices operated by solid fuel

TÜV SÜD KERMI Ltd. acquired designation on 21 12 2007 as the first Notified Body in Hungary for the procedure for the attestation of conformity of air heating devices under Directive 89/106/EEC.

In accordance with the Joint Decree 3/2003. (I. 25.) BM-GKM-KvVM harmonising the directive in order to manufacture and distribute air heating devices operated by solid fuel, such as fireplaces, stoves, kitchen ranges attestation of conformity issued by an independent approved certification body is required.

To put the product on the market of the European Union the procedure for attestation of conformity performed by TÜV SÜD KERMI Ltd. (notified in Brussels under CE 1420) is essential. Having accomplished the successful procedure our octagonal certification logo can be used upon your request, which, as a marketing tool well-known throughout Europe enhances the reputation of your product as well as its international consideration.

It is fundamental both for you and your clients that the safe operation and conformity of the products with the required parameters of the relevant standards is tested, assessed by an independent, impartial and objective body, and this can be performed by TÜV SÜD KERMI Ltd. first in Hungary.
