New Machinery Directive

Mandatory as of late 2009, the new EU Machinery Directive will apply to machinery manufacturers, their authorized representatives and any natural or legal person who puts machines into service.
The Directive will drastically influence the placing on the market, and thus the marketing of machines in the European Economic Area (EEA) as it includes the provision that all EU member states MUST permit a machine to be placed on their markets if the requirements of the Directives are fulfilled.
What does the Directive apply to?
- interchangeable equipment
- safety components
- lifting accessory
- chains, ropes and webbing
- removable mechanical transmission devices
- partly completed machinery
