CB Scheme

Your “Passport” for Electrical Products
CB Scheme offers faster time-to-market – worldwide
To facilitate international trade with electrical products, the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) introduced the CB Scheme. The scheme enables national certification bodies (NCBs) to accept each other’s test results.
At present, more than 50 countries, including all key industrialized nations, participate in the CB Scheme. However, non-IEC member countries normally accept the CB Certificate as well.
Fast track to success – choose our CB Certificate
By opting for a CB Certificate issued by TÜV SÜD, you avoid the long and costly process of obtaining individual national approvals for almost every export country. After the testing of your product has been completed successfully, we also provide you with the documentation required for your product: the CB Test Report. This “passport” allows you to apply to any CB Scheme member worldwide to receive their national certification marks.
Naturally, we also assist you with this application on request.
Your benefits from opting for our CB procedure:
- You can launch your electrical products on international markets significantly faster.
- You enjoy major cost savings thanks to the simplicity of the procedure.
We also offer additional support services:
At your request, we not only carry out national CB Certification, but also take care of all tests and formalities required for individual national approvals in other countries.
We are always by your side: TÜV SÜD
If required, we provide support for your product from the initial idea and market launch right through to its disposal. Benefit from our experience from day one. Testing and inspection in the design and development phase saves time and money.
