Machinery and Mechanical Engineering

Mandatory since late 2009, the EU Machinery Directive applies to machinery manufacturers, their authorized representatives and any natural or legal person who puts machines into service. The Directive drastically influences the placing on the market, and thus the marketing of machines in the European Economic Area (EEA) as it includes the provision that all EU member states MUST permit a machine to be placed on their markets if the requirements of the Directives are fulfilled.
If the Directive is not complied with, however, EU member states may prohibit the marketing , or even order the recall of machines that have been placed on their markets. The new Machinery Directive is mandatory since 29 December 2009 – without any transitional period! Adjust to this Directive to make sure you are able to market your machines in Europe just in time.
