TÜV SÜD is one of the gold sponsors of the STEP Award. Launched in 2006, the STEP Award is presented to innovative growth companies in science industries. This year technology and ICT companies can also apply for the first time. By supporting the STEP Award, TÜV SÜD emphasises the mission that the international provider of technical services has pursued for 150 years – to make new technologies safe and reliable.
TÜV SÜD was established in 1866 to improve the safety of steam boilers and minimise the risks involved in that innovative technology of the time. “Ever since those days, we have supported innovative companies and industries with the goal of inspiring trust in technology and making the world a safer place for people, technology and the environment”, says Dr.-Ing. Hans-Nicolaus Rindfleisch, CEO of TÜV SÜD Chemie Service GmbH and TÜV SÜD Business Unit Manager Chemical Oil & Gas. “This corporate objective has proved extremely successful and is still at the core of our activities nowadays, 150 years later.” Today more than 24,000 employees take care of the safety and quality of plants, systems and processes at over 800 locations. The Chemical Oil & Gas Business Unit and its 1,200-plus industry experts are represented at 30 locations on three continents.
“By sponsoring the STEP Award we aim to demonstrate the importance of innovations for progress and for the successful development of industry, business and society”, explains Dr Rindfleisch. “This applies in particular to companies operating in the industries of the STEP AWARD.” The objective of the STEP Award initiated by the specialist publishing house of Frankfurt's daily newspaper, F.A.Z FRANKFURT BUSINESS MEDIA – Der F.A.Z.-Fachverlag, is to provide integrated support to innovative growth companies operating predominantly in the B2B market in the science, technology and ICT industries. The STEP Award presents three industry awards, an interdisciplinary sustainability award and an annually changing special award, with this year's focus on “energy and resource efficiency”. The award winners also benefit from extensive media coverage and the range of the F.A.Z. Group and the involved media partners.
How to apply for the STEP Award
