TÜV SÜD’s experts will be represented at several stands at SPS IPC Drives, to be held in Nuremberg from 24 to 26 November 2015. The presence of the international provider of testing and certification services at the exhibition will revolve around current trends and innovations in the control-system, robotics and functional safety industries. At TÜV SÜD’s stand, visitors can see a certified robot made by Kuka and inform themselves about essential basic services such as NRTL, FES and CB approvals and approvals according to the low-voltage or ATEX directives.
The exhibition will showcase a robot made by KUKA and tested and certified by TÜV SÜD. The robot is used in the automotive, mechanical engineering, electrical and electronics industries, easing the workload of employees, increasing efficiency and saving man-power. In the field of functional and industrial IT safety, TÜV SÜD will present its new certification mark for Safety Elements out of Context, SEooC). The certification mark will assist manufacturers with the integration of pre-qualified systems into their products, thus helping them to save development time and costs. At the exhibition, TÜV SÜD’s experts will also provide information about the ATEX directive and TÜV SÜD’s services for ensuring quick and easy global market entry for products.

As a partner of SmartFactory-KL e.V., TÜV SÜD will also be represented at the stand of this initiative, where visitors can explore an Industry 4.0 installation and attend various demonstrations. TÜV SÜD’s experts will also give some technical talks, passing on their know-how to an interested audience. On Tuesday, Timo Huter, Project Manager Machinery Safety & Explosion Protection, will inform about the new ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU; on Wednesday, Dr Armin Pfoh, Vice President Innovation Management, will address the topic of ”Safety & Security in Industry 4.0”; and Jan Christopher Rode, Project Manager Machinery Safety & Functional Safety will wrap up the series of talks on Thursday, speaking about "Machinery Export to South Korea – Challenges faced by manufacturers and support“.
