Since the introduction of the EU Energy Performance of Buildings Directive in 2003. All EU Member states were required to develop and implement thier own calculation methodology by 2006 to rate the energy performance of new and existing buildings, their services and operating costs. Energy Performance Certificates (EPC‘s) are used to show this information in a graphic way allowing easy comparison with other buildings.
In the UK the Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP) is used for domestic buildings and the Simplified Building Energy Model (SBEM) for non-domestic serviced properties. These calculations are carried out as part of the Part L Building Regulations.
We will be happy to support you with the design and realisation of your building to meet local regulations.
