Traffic and vehicle safety is still top priority – not only in Europe, but also in countries as China or India, where vehicle population is expected to grow fastest. The positive trend in vehicle safety in Europe shows that measures taken in the field of structural safety, restraint systems, vehicle dynamics and driver assistance become effective. For the next decade the EU has set ambitious milestones. It will only be possible to reach the target of halving the number of people killed on EU roads by 2020 with the substantial use of electronically-assisted safety systems and linking information within the vehicle and with the infrastructure.
New solutions demand new challenges: in passive and active safety, in occupant and partner protection, in structural safety as well as in protection of exterior road users. In order to provide a target-oriented development a realistic testing and a reliable analysis are essential. Therefore crash.tech 2012 will bring into focus accident research, protective systems, e-vehicle safety as well as test and simulation.
In 2012 the 11th crash.tech conference celebrates its anniversary. For 20 years the conference is dealing with all aspects concerning vehicle safety. On the basis of these 20 years of experience crash.tech 2012 provides a prospect on the next decade.
